How many times do you bring down a testing pheasant or break a long clay to the loud applaud of your fellow guns; and you haven’t a clue how you did it?

Likewise we have all suffered the opposite, an attack of the “shooting blues”, when, and to quote Robert Churchill, “those pheasants appear to be wearing tin drawers”.
