Steven Potter
Steve is a senior staff member and instructor, and has been with us for over eleven years. Much of his early life was spent in game keeping and shoot management.
His knowledge of shotgun, rifle and bow make him an absolute all-rounder and Steve has a particular knack for designing realistic, exciting layouts. He coaches in a relaxed style; indeed he has nothing to prove, he just gets on with the job of ensuring you a safe, successful, enjoyable experience.
The design of the School’s grounds is largely Steve’s responsibility; he oversees the upkeep and keeps his finger on the pulse. It might only be Clay Shooting, but there’s a skill in presenting Simulated Targets that replicate the real thing. With superb topography to hand Steve has perfected “drives” of which we are justifiably proud.
Huw Williams
Huw is a qualified BASC instructor and has been coaching here for more than twenty years. Born on the Lleyn Peninsula, Huw is a Welsh speaker and learned to shoot from a very early age.
A Chartered Engineer by profession, Huw is a great communicator and is used to getting results!
Clay or Live Quarry shot, beginner or seasoned; Huw will relate to your requirements and ensure your time with us is very well spent.
Nigel Crook
Nigel has a “passion for all things firing” and this makes him the ideal person for entertaining you and your friends not only for clay pigeon shooting but our other activities too.
Nige graduated with a degree in Countryside Management from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and decided to pursue a career in field sports and woodland management.
With a fun personality, he’s a great communicator and will soon have you at ease as he coaches you along with a safe and structured lesson.
Along with Steve he designs the ‘stands’ for both the field archery and field air rifle range courses.
Nige manages the rifle range during peak time April – September and is available for tuition Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Andrew Baines
Andrew is Chief Groundsman and has worked here since leaving school. At just 24 years of age it is his landscaping skill and attention to detail that sees US taking the credit for our superb shooting grounds! Thank YOU Andrew!
